A Persian wedding ceremony in Florence brings together the richness of Persian traditions and the beauty of a historic Italian setting. After many years of designing weddings, I can say that Persian celebrations have an energy few others can match. From the intimate symbolism of the Sofreh Aghd to the joyful atmosphere of the party, each moment contributes to an extraordinary shared experience.

Creating this Persian wedding at Villa Palmieri required a thoughtful understanding of both tradition and the rhythm of the celebration. The styling of the Sofreh, the transitions between spaces and the flow of the festivities were designed to feel meaningful and effortless.

Our vision was to create a sense of wonder that would accompany guests throughout the wedding, revealing another hidden corner of Villa Palmieri and its extraordinary gardens with each transition.

Every space, proportion and design detail was carefully considered to complement the villa’s architecture and Italian gardens. Our approach was guided by restraint: enhancing the beauty of the setting while allowing its character to remain at the heart of the experience. The floral palette introduced colour, joy and freshness, creating a harmonious connection between the celebration and its surroundings.

For the reception, we designed a bespoke marquee around two existing palm trees, incorporating them into the setting. Its proportions, together with the shapes and arrangement of the tables, created a carefully balanced relationship between the structure and the gardens.

The marquee framework also became a canvas for lighting and décor. With fine weather on our side, we were able to leave the roof uncovered: a final adjustment that transformed the evening into an open-air celebration beneath the stars.

From the Sofreh Aghd ceremony to the garden reception, this Persian wedding in Florence reflected our belief that thoughtful design should honour cultural traditions, embrace the setting and allow every moment to unfold naturally.
