Luxury Wedding in Sicily
Wedding in Sicily near Taormina │ 200 guests │ Outdoor ceremony │ Live band from London
I met this bride at a wedding we organized in 2017, she was the groom’s best friend, and two years later, she decided to contact me for her wedding in Sicily.
She is Lebanese, her fiancé Italian, so Sicily was the ideal area to gather friends coming from more than 20 countries. Sicily is a land mixing strong shades, scents and tastes that stick in your mind.
The venue we selected is close to Taormina, one of the loveliest areas in Italy, between the Ionian Sea and Mount Etna, the largest European volcano.
The charming venue, perfect for a 200-guest wedding, allowed us to enhance its two areas: the ancient part overlooking the sea and the gardens, where the ceremony took place, and the modern part where we organized the wedding reception and the dances.
With our couple’s consent, we decided to heighten the innate beauty of the venue, and selected a traditional light and white décor with some fuchsia touches evoking the colors of the bougainvillea covering the walls of Sicilian villas in the spring, resulting in an elegant, well balanced event.
At sundown, the guests walked to the modern area, framed by large palms that encircled the tables set around the dance floor and the stage, where the band entertained the guests with a mix of western and Arabic music.
After a break to enjoy the typical Sicilian desserts, we moved to the greenhouse where the guests danced until dawn.
The play of the ancient and modern touches we chose for this event recalls Sicily, a middle ground where different cultures live together in captivating harmony.
